It's an older facility, but they kept it very nice and clean. They have been updating the rooms and the dining facility. I toured Brown Deer Place, and it had a fairly homey feel. The community is small, and there are not many residents. The staff was great, and very helpful. The have a craft area, parking, and separate dining areas for the assisted living and the memory care areas.
Amenities include memory care programs, housekeeping services, a chapel, and faith-based consulting. Brown Deer Place is a smaller independent living and memory care place. If there are any additional services that you need, you pay extra for that. I know that they provide transportation to grocery stores and to Wal-Mart once a week. We haven't participated in the activities, but we are doing outpatient therapy three times a week. Our particular place is right across the dining room.
